State has low number of college graduates

These newspapers ran an AP story about Michigan ranking 37th in the nation for residents with college degrees. The number is based on a study by WSU's Center for Urban Studies. Research Director Kurt Metzger pointed out that the actual number of residents with college degrees has increased 17.4 percent since 1990. However, gains by other states have offset the rise in Michigan.
